Bengalsouk.com is a Hyperlocal - Marketplace which deals in wide range of products specially for Bengali community.

As the name suggests, bengalsouk.com is an online store that focuses mainly on Bengali products like Staples, Condiments, Pickles, Books/Magazines, Pooja Items, and everything related to the vast Bengali Culture.The founders of the marketplace wanted to cater to the Bengali community- the people based within and outside India and are away from Bengal. Through the marketplace, the founders wanted to create an ecosystem where local Bengali sellers sold all the Bengali specialties. People could purchase the same from anywhere through the portal.

The Challanges we had?

The founder’s duo wanted to create a marketplace platform that would mainly focus on the products relating to Bengali Culture. The projected buyers and the sellers were both from the same community. Thought the business requirement was of a generic B2C marketplace solution wherein sellers would list their product catalog thru their dedicated back-end panel. The listed products would then be displayed to the buyer on the website frontend for purchases. But referring to the product categories and the line items, the products available on the website were in different weighing capacities like pulses/staples/condiments were sold in heavyweight packets. Due to the variation in product weight, we had to find a route using which lightweight and heavyweight types of products can be shipped by the sellers using the marketplace’s pre-integrated logistic partner.

The solution

For smooth operations of a marketplace, the order processing route has to be very trouble-free so that the seller can complete the order processing effortlessly & efficiently.
Considering the challenges wherein we wanted a single logistic provider which can be integrated on the portal and the same provider can fulfill our requirement of both air shipping & surface shipping at economical rates. Since the marketplace did not want to give an option to the seller to ‘Self Ship’ products and wanted to complete logistic control in their hands only, we had to find here a provider who could seamlessly integrate on the portal.
